General George Smith Patton was a true
‘Confederate General’ in the modern 20th Century.
His ancestors were: Confederate Colonels: Waller Tazewell Patton (7th VA), George Smith Patton (23rd VA), Isaac Williams Patton (21st LA), John Mercer Patton (21st VA). His step-grandfather was George Hugh Smith, Col. 25th VA.
Colonel George Smith Patton –died of a wound received at the third Battle of Winchester in 1864.
